FL Studio Project Template

This is the FL Studio project template that I use for all my new projects. It helps me keep my songs organized and gives me many powerful functions at my disposal. It's very flexible and well thought through which makes it suitable for all projects and all genres of music.

I have spent many, many hours on this template and given every detail lots of thought and love. I've tried to make the template get rid of all my lazy and bad habits I tend to have while producing. All cool features and conveniences I want in a session are added to the template, to give me no excuses to not take every project as serious as possible.

I believe a good project template is as important as keeping your samples, instruments, effects and presets organized. Every small step that minimizes the time you spend on non-important tasks matters. This project template was a huge step for me. I hope it is for you as well. Let me know what you think!

Features

Flexible mixer solution for main buses

All your instruments and sounds are conveniently caught by four submixes before the audio signal continues it's journey towards the master mixer channel. This will help you keep your mixer channels organized and is a powerful and flexible way to interact with the mixer, regardless of genre. You can configure this to personal taste, but the general idea of these four buses are:

• CORE: The foundation of the song. Drums and bass.
• BACK: Harmonic and background content. Choir, pads, ambiance etc.
• FRONT: Melodic content. Lead vocals, lead guitar, lead synths etc.
• FX: Ear candy and effect samples. Impacts, sweeps, risers, crashes etc.

Reference songs

No paid plugins needed! The project file is shipped with a complete solution for reference songs. Just drag and drop your preferred song to the reference track in the playlist and you're good to go.

• The free plugin SPAN provides a graphical comparison between your master and your reference song.
• The free plugin Youlean Loudness Meter 2 gives you the loudness analysis needed for streaming platform ready songs.
• Easy control over the playback of the reference song (see section below).

Powerful output controls

This is my favorite part! The project is shipped with a custom plugin that gives you several powerful functions to utilize when you produce your music.

• Switch between your song and your reference song (Toggle button and volume setting).
• Listen in full mono to detect mistakes early on (Toggle button).
• Listen only to the low end to tailor your bass and sub frequencies (Toggle button and cutoff setting).
• Listen temporarily in a lower volume to be gentle to your ears from time to time (Toggle button and volume setting).

More features

• The playlist structure for your next song is already set up according to the mixer layout. Work with mixer and playlist as one! Or not! The choice is totally up to you.
• Global effects in the playlist. One place to put all your effects that affects your whole mix. Easily increase that intensity for your buildups!
• Custom made buildup plugin. The project template comes with my own buildup intensity plugin. It will help you make your drops more powerful after a buildup phase!
